Build big things out of the small

If you want to make something interesting, something that challenges you, excites you, and has a chance of doing the same for the audience, you need something more substantial than a line of breadcrumbs from thereabouts to there-again. But since you don’t know exactly the path you’re going to take (see frozen lake metaphor above) you can’t just architect a grand cathedral-like epic project, not if you want to have any real hope of completing it.
